ITS FLAGS
From Juno to Ottawa: the epic story of two highly symbolic flags!
The Juno Beach Centre has made a highly symbolic donation of a Canadian and French flag to be flown from July 6 to 12, 2021, at this place of remembrance in Normandy in honour of the 45,000 Canadians who lost their lives during the Second World War (see photos).
To facilitate their transportation to Canada, they were received by one of the co-initiators of the project, Christophe Raisonnier, on vacation in France.
These two flags will be the first to fly on the flagpoles of the first national monument dedicated to the Franco-Canadian friendship at the National Cemetery of Canada in Ottawa during its upcoming inauguration.

AMICITIA France-Canada is grateful to the Juno Beach Centre for allowing us to honour these brave Canadian soldiers who contributed to the liberation of France through their courage and sacrifice.
